Remove all of the sealant and the mounting screws, but do not attempt to remove the antenna before you remove the antenna handle on the inside of the RV. Whenever you remove old sealant from a rubber roof be extremely careful not to tear the rubber roofing. I used a plastic scraping tool to remove the old sealant and access the mounting screws. The first step was to remove the old antenna. If you are not comfortable working on the RV roof have the work done by a qualified RV service facility. It would be easier and less expensive to go with the antenna head that retrofits directly to the existing antenna, but as I mentioned earlier our antenna has seen better days so I opted to go with the complete unit.Ĭaution: Exercise caution when you are working on the RV roof, a fall can result in serious injury or worse. You can purchase the Rayzar z1 as a complete unit or as the antenna head with adapter. Another reason I selected this antenna is because it can replace the existing antenna with minimal effort. It is low profile, lightweight and it picks up free HD channels wherever you travel. There were several reasons I selected this antenna. After some research on the topic I decided to go with the Rayzar Z1 HD digital RV antenna by Winegard. All other audio from the tv to the stereo receiver works as expected.Last year I started having problems with our old bat wing style TV antenna on the RV, so I decided to replace it with a digital RV antenna. The stumper is that the tv audio from the OTA channels is fine-it's only the audio coming from the stereo receiver, and only with the OTA signal coming through the coax-in. I've swapped antennas and tested them on another tv, and both antennas work as expected on the other tvs, so I don't think that's the problem. Since there is only one connection from the tv to the stereo for audio, and my other HDMI inputs are fine, I'm wondering if it's something to do with the tuner. The tv picks up channels fine with the antenna, and the sound from the tv's speakers is fine, but in the last few days, the audio coming from the receiver is what I would describe as "digital stutter" or just plain old static. I have a D/A converter to connect the tv's audio out to an analog input on my stereo receiver.

My living room TV is a Toshiba with an optical out for audio. I'm having an issue that's stumping me and I'm hoping someone here can help me troubleshoot.
